MMEG Music Protection & Promotion System

The Problem

Every  musician or group faces the same dilemma. They want people to hear their music but they do not want to loose control of their music. They would like to get the exposure they need without having to give away the income or revenue that their music might generate.

This problem has been a source of grief for every musician, performer, song writer, and band since the days of her majesties court. The digital age made it easy to distribute software. MP3's where small and easy to trade and the internet made sending it to your friends a snap.

Once the file was on the net, it was easy to burn it to a CD and listen to in your car or home stereo. It was even simpler to upload it into your mp3 player and play it where ever you went. The need to buy a CD or digital track was made redundant.

Not a day goes by without hearing about music piracy in the news. Don't believe me? Just check out our Blog as we track the media and what is written about digital piracy. Still don't believe it? then go to our music piracy section of the site and watch the real time counter that counts how many files are illegally shared or transferred every second!

NOW THERE IS A SOLUTION

The Concept

The Music Media Entertainment Group has been working for the last three years to perfect a new technology to solve this problem. This technology was developed to solve several problems.

  • It had to be able to easy to identify media tracks that were released on the web for free distribution.

  • It needed to be able to control how people on the web viewed or listened to the tracks and prevent them from being altered or changed!

  • It needed to be able to limit the use of these tracks to computers linked to the web and prevent the tracks from being used on any other medium.

  • It needed to be able to limit the time or duration that these free tracks could circulate on the web before expiring and becoming inoperative.

  • It needed to have the additional functionality of being able to promote the artist or band that created the track in a way that is as original as the music or video that it is playing.

Well the Music Media Entertainment Group is pleased to introduce this new technology. It requires no special encryption and is easy to use. We have even prepared an online application that will allow anyone to easily and quickly treat a music file and protect it from misuse. This version of the MMEG Protection & Promotion System is limited to protecting files that are to be distributed on the web for free as a way of promoting the artists that created them. Future releases of this system will lock media tracks to specific types of players like mp3's or home stereos. This technology is extremely flexible and we need help from the creative community to determine how it should best be implemented. It is for this reason that we have decided to release this technology for free. In exchange all we ask is that you fill out a survey and tell us your thoughts and ideas on how this technology should be rolled out.

HERE IS HOW IT WORKS

The Solution

The process is very simple. It all starts with the Musician, or the person that has the original music or video track that they wish to protect. They want to release it on the web and get it in front of as many people as they can. They do not want it to wind up on an mp3 player or a CD, because they want anyone who likes the track to purchase it.

What do they do? Well they surf on over to the Music media Site and fill out an online form. This form asks for some basic information like author, band name, etc. and then allows the user to select the file from their hard drive that they wish to process. They also get to choose a flash clip that will be included with their track and then they press a button and after a minute or two of processing time the treated track is returned and the process is complete. They may now take that file and distribute it any way they wish. They can put it on their website, send it out in emails, or even distribute it over a peer to peer network. no matter where it goes it will always be played in its original format. The best part is that the flash component that they loaded in with their track is busy promoting the band or musician to any one that listens to the track. It can even direct the listener to the website that sells the track or album.

As an added bonus we know that musicians and bands need other websites to distribute their music as well. Every piece that is treated with this new technology will be archived in our soon to be launched free music download library which will be heavily promoted thus providing another avenue to distribute the tracks and get additional exposure.
